USTP Oroquieta NSTP supports the 10th National Fire Olympics 2026

Students from the National Service Training Program (NSTP) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) demonstrated strong support and active participation during the Opening Salvo of the 10th National Fire Olympics 2026 on March 24, 2026, held at the Asenso Misamis Occidental Provincial Athletic Complex in Oroquieta City, hosted by the Province of Misamis Occidental.
The event marked the official start of the three-day national competition, which brought together personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection nationwide to showcase their skills, discipline, and preparedness in fire and emergency response.
The opening ceremony was graced by distinguished officials, including Governor Hon. Henry S. Oaminal, Congressman Hon. Jason P. Almonte, and Oroquieta City Mayor Hon. Lemuel Meyrick M. Acosta. Also present were Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Officer-in-Charge Chief, Fire Chief Superintendent Wilberto Rico Neil A. Kuan Tiu, Regional Director Fire Chief Superintendent Romel Tradio, along with other provincial officials and BFP regional directors from across the country.
The active involvement of NSTP students highlighted the campus’s commitment to community engagement, public safety advocacy, and its continuing partnership with local government units and national agencies. Their presence not only supported the success of the event but also reinforced the importance of youth participation in nation-building initiatives.
