The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) celebrated Filipino Culture and Student Excellence through PathFit Festival of Talents held on May 22, 2026, at the USTP Oroquieta Covered Court. The event served as the culminating activity of the students’ learning experiences in the Physical Activity Towards Health and Fitness (PathFit) program, highlighting not only their artistic abilities but also the values of teamwork, discipline, creativity, and cultural appreciation.
The festival featured two major categories: The Grand Dance Parade (Bayle sa Kalye) and the Dance Showcase (Eksibisyon). During the Grand Dance Parade, participating groups captivated audiences with choreographed routines as they entered the festival venue, setting the tone for the day’s festivities. The Dance Showcase then highlighted the groups’ full choreographed performances, allowing students to demonstrate their artistic excellence and mastery of movement. More than a competition, the event became a meaningful platform for students to express themselves creatively, strengthen camaraderie, and deepen their appreciation of Philippine traditions and cultural heritage. Through the arts, participants were able to celebrate diversity while fostering collaboration and mutual respect among their peers.
The success of the PathFit Festival of Talents 2026 reflects USTP Oroquieta’s commitment to holistic student development by providing opportunities that nurture both physical wellness and cultural awareness. The event also reinforced the university’s mission of cultivating well-rounded individuals who value excellence, creativity, and community engagement.
