USTP Panaon boosts cybersecurity awareness in DICT regional seminar

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon) participated in the regional awareness seminar organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region X titled “Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), and Cyber Hygiene.” The webinar was conducted on March 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM via the Zoom platform. The activity aimed to increase awareness and strengthen preventive efforts against online sexual exploitation of children while promoting responsible digital practices and cybersecurity awareness among participants.
Different academic programs from participating institutions attended the webinar following an invitation sent by DICT Region X. Each institution designated a facilitator or coordinator who registered through the link provided in the official letter to receive the Zoom access details.
Through this initiative, DICT Region X continues to encourage schools and communities to become more responsible and vigilant in using digital technologies and protecting children in the online environment.
