USTP Panaon, Griffith University explore global partnership in virtual inception meeting

In a major step toward expanding its global reach, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon (USTP Panaon) held a virtual inception meeting with Australia’s Griffith University on February 13, 2026, via Microsoft Teams. The meeting laid the groundwork for future joint programs and projects, with discussions also focusing on a proposed activity for World Home Economics Day in March.
Representing USTP were Acting Campus Director Dr. Leny Q. Anasco; Director for Global Engagement Dr. Ramir Philip Jones V. Sonsona; Engr. Sprinztsie Maye T. Garrucha; Dr. Susan C. Comaling; and faculty members Christopher R. Balaba, Mary Jane A. Moralia, Jed Anthony A. Ceballos, and Ms. Marjho Mae S. Cardoza. Griffith University was represented by Director for Engagement Professor Donna Pendergast AM.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to develop a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and identify pilot projects for the coming year, marking a new chapter in USTP Panaon’s international engagement.
