USTP Panaon spreads love on Valentine’s Day through Blood Donation Drive

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Panaon, Misamis Occidental, spearheaded a blood donation drive on February 14, 2024, as an exceptional and philanthropic observance of Valentine’s Day. In addition to raising awareness about the critical blood demand in the community, the event sought to promote the spirit of compassion.

The collaboration among the faculty, staff, and students of USTP Panaon demonstrated their dedication to effecting positive change within the local healthcare system through their ardent participation in the endeavor. A steady stream of donors eager to express their affection by contributing the gift of life attended the event at the university campus.

To promote compliance with all safety protocols, the initiative was coordinated with the Philippine Red Cross Misamis Occidental – Oroquieta City Chapter, led by the Hon. City Councilor Isaias “Jun” U. Claros Jr. To ensure the safety and efficiency of the donor experience, medical personnel was present to assist in the donation process.

The university community’s tremendous support was acknowledged by Dr. Leny Q. Añasco, the Acting Campus Director of USTP Panaon. In support of medical facilities’ ability to deliver expeditious and critical care to needy patients, the donated blood will replenish local blood banks. Furthermore, it had an enduring favorable effect on the health and well-being of the local community while distinctively celebrating Valentine’s Day.
