USTP Panaon strengthens research network at 2026 NRCP Scientific Conference

Faculty members from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon) actively participated in the 2026 Annual Scientific Conference and 93rd General Membership Assembly, held on March 13, 2026, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). The event was organized by the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
With the theme, “Transdisciplinary Capacity Building and Ethical Research Towards a Progressive, Unified, and SDG-Driven Nation,” the event highlighted the necessity of integrating diverse knowledge systems, including academic, indigenous, technological, and policy-driven perspectives, to effectively address the complex challenges hindering the country’s attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The delegation, composed of dedicated educators and researchers, included Dr. Leny Q. Anasco, Annielyn P. Lasagas, Dr. Susan C. Comaling, Marjho Mae S. Cardoza, Verona L. Pormento, John Philip A. Viajedor, Janepol G. Ballard, Jed Anthony A. Ceballos, Marjune T. Bonilla, Christopher R. Balaba, and Mary Jane A. Moralia. Their presence at this prestigious national scientific gathering underscores the institution’s dedication to engaging with high-level research agendas and aligning its academic pursuits with global sustainability standards. By immersing themselves in discussions on ethical frameworks and cross-sectoral collaboration, the faculty members gained valuable insights that will enrich their research initiatives and academic programs in Northern Mindanao.
By taking part in this national forum, USTP Panaon has taken a definitive step toward expanding its research horizons and cultivating strategic partnerships.
