The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon), took part in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12, 2026, joining other institutions across the country in promoting disaster preparedness. Students, along with faculty and staff, participated in the simulation exercises, which focused on practicing response protocols and proper evacuation procedures. The activity highlighted the importance of working together and making sure everyone in the university knows what to do during an earthquake.
The main goal of the drill was to help participants become more aware, disciplined, and ready in case an earthquake happens. By involving both students and employees, USTP Panaon continues to strengthen its efforts in promoting safety and preparedness on campus.
The NSED served as a reminder of how important it is to be prepared and reinforced the university’s role in helping its community gain the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during emergencies such as earthquakes.
