The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon) proudly made a significant impact at the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) 2025. Their team, CivicTech Solutions, emerged as the champion in the RSTW Innovation Jam, held on October 1, 2025, at the newly inaugurated Innovation Hub, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Misamis Occidental, in Oroquieta City.

Competing against nine other teams from across Northern Mindanao, the USTP Panaon student innovators showcased their project, Certilink. This innovative web and mobile platform is designed to streamline certification processes in local governance. The project distinguished itself through its practicality, scalability, and potential to enhance digital transformation in government systems.

The team’s victory not only earned them the top cash prize of ₱25,000 but also reinforced USTP Panaon’s reputation as a hub for innovation and creativity in technology within the region.
In recognition of their outstanding performance, Oroquieta City Mayor Lemuel Meyrick M. Acosta, who was one of the judges, awarded an additional ₱10,000 cash incentive to each of the top three teams. The awards ceremony took place on October 3, 2025, at the Bayfront Arena in Oroquieta City, celebrating the achievements of Northern Mindanao’s most talented young innovators.
USTP Panaon’s success at the RSTW Innovation Jam 2025 demonstrates the university’s commitment to developing future innovators and problem-solvers who leverage science and technology to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
