The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), through its International Affairs Office and in collaboration with its campuses in Oroquieta and Panaon in Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta and USTP Panaon), and Jasaan in Misamis Oriental (USTP Jasaan), successfully held the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Project with Politeknik Negeri Malang (POLINEMA) of Indonesia. The virtual engagement, conducted via Zoom on April 23, 2025, showcased the strength of international academic cooperation in the digital age.
The event brought together faculty members, students, and institutional leaders from both institutions, creating a dynamic platform for cultural exchange and academic enrichment. At the core of the COIL Project was a series of expert-led online lectures focused on key areas in information technology:
Mr. Luis Cadiz III, MIT of USTP Panaon, opened the academic sessions with a morning lecture on Artificial Intelligence, highlighting emerging technologies and their transformative impact across various industries.

Mr. Arnel F. Mangga, LPT of USTP Oroquieta, continued the discussions in the afternoon with a session on Networking, emphasizing the role of connectivity and infrastructure in today’s digital world.

Dr. Gunawan Budi Prasetyo, PhD, of POLINEMA, concluded the program with a lecture on Decision Support Systems, providing insights into data-driven decision-making and offering an Indonesian perspective on the subject.

The COIL Project reaffirms USTP’s commitment to building robust international linkages and enhancing the global competencies of its students and faculty. By facilitating access to cross-border expertise and collaborative learning, USTP continues to advance its mission of delivering world-class education grounded in science, technology, and innovation.
