USTP rank for 11 SDGs in 2025 THE Impact Rankings

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) is making significant strides toward global sustainable development, now being ranked in 11 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, a significant leap from five SDGs in 2024 and four in 2023.

This achievement highlights USTP’s growing commitment to real-world impact, with new entries in key areas such as No Poverty (SDG 1), Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), Life Below Water (SDG 14), Life on Land (SDG 15), and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16).
This year, USTP is ranked in the following SDG categories:
- SDG 1 – No Poverty (new entry)
- SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being (new entry)
- SDG 4 – Quality Education
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
- SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities (new entry)
- SDG 14 – Life Below Water (new entry)
- SDG 15 – Life on Land (new entry)
- SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (new entry)
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals


USTP also maintained its 1001–1500th spot in the overall global rankings for 2025. This year’s Impact Rankings assessed 2,526 universities from 130 countries and territories, evaluating institutions based on their measurable contributions to the United Nations’ SDGs.
According to THE, Asian universities now account for over half of all ranked institutions, with 10 of the 17 SDG categories led by universities from Asia.
“The overall Impact Rankings table identifies and celebrates universities that demonstrate comprehensive excellence in contributing to global sustainable development. By excelling in a variety of SDGs, these universities showcase their commitment to addressing the world’s most pressing challenges, including environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, and partnerships,” THE stated in its release.

USTP has been listed as a Reporter for the 2025 World University Rankings and Asia University Rankings, marking another step forward in its journey toward global academic recognition.
The 2025 THE Impact Ranking reaffirms USTP’s dedication to building a future that’s inclusive, innovative, and sustainable for the Philippines and the world.
