The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO), led by Dr. Charito Ong and co-researchers Dr. Elva Maramara and Ms. Mary Ann Pajegal, has completed a research project funded by the institution on December 4, 2025, at the Research Director’s Office, USTP CDO. The project is titled “Evaluation and Design of Technology-Based Training Programs Within CITL Frameworks.” It aimed to evaluate the different factors, inputs, processes, and outcomes that affect the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) teacher training programs. Moreover, the project also intended to create a better technology-based training program that supports USTP’s goal of encouraging innovation, digital skills, and ongoing professional growth among educators.
The results were presented to key stakeholders, including:
Dr. Lloyd Jhon Estampa, CITL Director
Ms. Josan Fermano, CSTE Faculty Representative
Dr. Geldolin Inte, CSM Faculty Representative
Mr. Jovane Antifuesto, COT Faculty Representative
Dr. Ismael Talili, Director for Research
Dr. Janneth Q. Rondina, RPO
The findings showed that CITL’s training efforts are highly valued and effective. They significantly boost faculty skills and confidence in educational technology. With the improved framework and continued support from the institution, the program is well-prepared for even greater success and long-term sustainability.
This achievement highlights USTP’s commitment to quality, research-based training design, and evidence-backed educational development.
