The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) continues to advance its global engagements as Dr. Vanessa V. Ascaño, Vice President for Finance and Resource Management (VPRM), represented the university at the International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from July 2 to 4, 2025. Organized by the International Public Policy Association (IPPA), the conference brought together policymakers, scholars, and academics from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss pressing policy issues.

This was Dr. Ascaño’s second time presenting at the international forum. It shows her commitment to scholarship and USTP’s dedication to contributing to global policy discussions. During the conference, Dr. Ascaño spoke with colleagues from leading institutions, including the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the University of Santo Tomas (UST). These talks help build USTP’s academic networks and create opportunities for potential collaborations in research and innovation.

For USTP, Dr. Ascaño’s participation represents more than a personal achievement. It demonstrates the university’s commitment to cultivating leaders and innovators who can positively impact education, policy, and public service globally. It also supports USTP’s aim of creating a globally connected academic community that focuses on making real change.
