USTP strengthens presence with new ASEAN Engineer conferment

Dr. Lory Liza D. Bulay-og, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) and National President of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP), was officially conferred as an ASEAN Engineer at the 2025 ASEAN Engineering Register Conferment Ceremony during the 43rd Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (CAFEO 43) held from October 28, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center in Pampanga, Philippines.​

Aligned with this year’s theme, “ASEAN Engineers: Beacons of Prosperity, Inclusivity, Equity, Resilience, and Sustainability,” Dr. Bulay-og’s achievement highlights her dedication to fostering global excellence, driving campus leadership, and promoting quality assurance standards in Philippine engineering education. Her recognition by the region’s premier engineering body signifies both her efforts and vision for academic innovation and sustainable professional development within IECEP and in USTP.​

As a multi-awarded administrator and educator, Dr. Bulay-og’s conferment enhances the university’s position in ASEAN, raising institutional standards and professional engagement for Filipino engineers. Her leadership and commitment echo the conference’s mission of empowering engineers to champion equity, drive resilient innovation, and spark sustainable progress across societies—further solidifying USTP’s contributions to the ASEAN engineering landscape.
