USTP, Universitas Brawijaya host international conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Are you passionate about advancing research in computing, engineering, science education, or entrepreneurship? 

 

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), together with the Universitas Brawijaya in Indonesia, cordially invites you to attend the ATU-Net International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Computing, Engineering, and Science Education (InvENT) 2025, to be held at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, on July 23–24, 2025.

 

With the theme “Empowering Education for Sustainable Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” InvENT 2025 invites students, researchers, and academics to connect, collaborate, and share innovative ideas in sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and education. 

Keynote speakers joining InvENT 2025 come from prestigious institutions and agencies. Among them are Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP, a professor from Universitas Brawijaya; Mr. Andy Wee, Associate Consultant at BluC 53; Prof. Dr. Ramayah Thurasamy, a professor from Universiti Sains Malaysia; and Prof. Ir. Ratih Indri Hapsari, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPM, a professor from Politeknik Negeri Malang.

 

These esteemed speakers will address a range of forward-thinking topics on innovation and entrepreneurship. Prof. Dr. Ir. Santoso will speak on “Advancing Innovation through Integrated Education System at Universitas Brawijaya Towards World Entrepreneurial Class University”. Prof. Ir. Hapsari will tackle “Climate Responsive Education to Drive Sustainability”, while Prof. Dr. Thurasamy will present “Gamification and Experiential Learning: Boosting Engagement in Entrepreneurship Education.” Mr. Wee will focus on “Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry for Entrepreneurial Success.”

In addition to the keynote sessions, the two-day event will also feature parallel sessions and paper presentations by conference participants. Distinguished guests and officials from the Asian Technological University Network (ATU-NET), Universitas Brawijaya, and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Philippines will also deliver inspirational messages. Among them are Dr. Mohd Arriffin Bin Abu Hassan, Executive Director of ATU-NET and Director of UTM International at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia; Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc., Rector of Universitas Brawijaya in Indonesia; and Dr. Arlita Amapola B. Minguez, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education Region 10 (CHED-X) in the Philippines.

 

Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, USTP System President; Dr. Lory Liza D. Bulay-og, Conference Co-Chair, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Officer-In-Charge for the Office of Global Engagement and Mobility; and Dr. Apolinario B. Gonzaga, Jr., Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, will also deliver their messages during the event.

 

InvENT 2025 will also feature oral presentations and parallel sessions by participants. Selected articles will be published in a Special Edition of the Mindanao Journal of Science and Technology and, potentially, in the Southeastern Philippines Journal of Research and Development, both of which are SCOPUS-indexed journals. This provides a valuable platform for research dissemination, enhances participants’ presentation skills, expands professional networks, and encourages collaboration between students and lecturers in fostering a deeper understanding of research methodologies and innovation.

 

Organizing the conference is the Office of Vice President for Global Engagement and Mobility and the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the USTP System.
