The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing on October 8, 2025, at the USTP System Boardroom in Cagayan de Oro. The ceremony marked the official launch of the USTP–UNY collaboration, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing academic excellence, research innovation, and international engagement.

The MOA was signed by USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II and the UNY delegation led by Dr. Ir. Gunadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., IPU, Vice Dean of UNY.
The collaboration featured a series of workshops, a mini-colloquium, and discussions on internationalization held from October 9 to 10, 2025.
These sessions aimed to promote knowledge exchange and explore potential initiatives, including faculty and student mobility programs, joint research projects, and opportunities for dual or double-degree programs.

The College of Technology of USTP Cagayan de Oro, led by its dean, Dr. Ruvel J. Cuasito Sr., organized the event with support from Dr. Ramir Philip Jones V. Sonsona, Director for Global Engagement and Mobility of the USTP System, and other USTP faculty and staff.
The three-day engagement laid the groundwork for a sustainable partnership that will foster long-term academic cooperation and international collaboration between USTP and UNY.
