USTP Villanueva Professor takes oath as NCCA council member

Mr. Evans Rosauro I. Yonson, Assistant Professor of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental (USTP Villanueva), formally took his oath as Executive Council Member for the Academe under the National Committee on Communication of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) on March 25, 2026, in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines.
Prof. Yonson currently serves as Program Head of Technology Communication Management and as Academic Head of USTP Villanueva campus bringing to the Council a strong background in communication, academic leadership, and cultural engagement. As a member of the Executive Council for the 2026–2028 term, he is expected to contribute to policy and program directions that strengthen cultural dissemination through communication. This includes advancing strategies that make culture more accessible and meaningful across diverse publics, supporting the integration of research and pedagogy into cultural communication initiatives, and fostering collaboration among academic institutions, media practitioners, and cultural stakeholders. His role also involves helping articulate communication frameworks that respond to evolving information environments—ensuring that Philippine culture is not only preserved but actively shared, interpreted, and experienced by communities.
Through this appointment, Yonson joins a national effort to position communication as a critical bridge between culture and society.
This milestone also reflects USTP Villanueva’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and cultural engagement—an institution not only producing knowledge, but shaping narratives, cultivating meaning, and asserting its place in the continuing discourse of nation-building through culture.
