Fifty (50) students at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Villanueva are the new recipients of the tablets from the university.

The tablets were distributed to identified students who have no gadgets to use for online classes. It comes with a three hundred pesos (Php 300) load in support of the Flexible Learning Program (FLP) of the University.

for the support.

USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, USTP Villanueva Acting Campus Director Prof. Colbert G. Rabaya, Misamis Oriental 2nd District Congresswoman Juliette T. Uy and Villanueva Municipal Vice Mayor Edwin Dagasuhan, led the unboxing and distribution of tablets at the Multi-Purpose Municipal Hall of Villanueva last March 26, 2021.

President Cultura emphasized that the new tablets not only address the students’ needs during this challenging time but also show the University’s commitment to finding means to continue to provide quality education to the community it serves. He encouraged the students to use the technology for other opportunities, to have that entrepreneurial mindset, and to collaborate and start with good connections with others.

Prof. Cobert G. Rabaya also mentioned the value and importance of education and what USTP could offer, such as free tuition. He also reminded the students to take care of the tablets that the University entrusted to them.

The students thanked the University for reaching out to the needs of the learners.
