ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Bachelor of Science in Business Information Science (BSBIS) is an interdisciplinary program that integrates the principles of business administration with the technical skills of information science. This program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to analyze, design, implement, and manage business information systems that enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. The curriculum emphasizes data-driven decision-making, digital transformation, and the strategic use of emerging technologies in business operations. Graduates of the program will be prepared to navigate the evolving digital economy, leveraging information systems to drive innovation, optimize business processes, and support sustainable growth.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Upon graduating in the program, the students shall have the:

a) PO1. Mastery of Core Business Disciplines Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of fundamental business principles in management, marketing, finance, accounting, and operations to support sound organizational decision-making.

b) PO2. Competence in Information Systems Design Analyze, design, and implement information systems and business solutions that effectively address enterprise requirements and enhance organizational performance.

c) PO3. Proficiency in Digital and Technical Skills Apply knowledge and technical proficiency in programming, database management, network administration, and information security to support business operations.

d) PO4. Analytical Thinking and Data-Driven Decision Making Utilize data analytics, visualization, and interpretation techniques to generate actionable insights that inform evidence-based and strategic business decisions.

Three (3) to five (5) years from graduation, BSBIS graduates of USTP are:

1) PEO1: Competent professionals who can make significant contributions to their organizations by effectively utilizing their technical and analytical skills to innovate and solve complex business problems, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and driving strategic initiatives.

2) PEO2: Leaders who are capable of holding positions of increased responsibility, such as team leads, project managers, or departmental managers, and demonstrating managerial skills in the implementation and management of business information systems.
