Message From The Department Head

Welcome to the Technology Communication Management Department—where tech meets communication, and managing both is an art (and sometimes a science experiment)!

As your Chairperson, my goal is to help you bridge the gap between technology and effective communication—because what good is innovation if no one understands it? Whether you're crafting strategies, managing tech-driven projects, or just trying to make sense of jargon-filled reports, know that you're developing skills that truly matter.

So stay curious, communicate clearly, and always remember—even the best ideas need good storytelling! Let’s shape the future of tech-driven communication together.

Crystal Sylvette Lavender P. Raro, MS
Department Head, TCM Department, USTP

OFFERED PROGRAMS

Bachelor of Science in Technology Communication Management

BSTCM is a four-year program that combines the disciplines of technopreneurship, multimedia communication and communication management. TCM is a training ground for students who are communication managers that are adept with technology (soft and hard) and who aspire to become competent and effective in the field of communication and management while keeping up with the innovations and technology advancement. This course paves the way for students to excel and propel them to foster digital literacy as they face the real world head-on. TCM graduates may find themselves working in one of these industries: business, media and advertising, tourism, bank, and many more.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Bachelor of Science in Technology Communication Management (BS-TCM). The new TCM curriculum envisions its graduates to be Technopreneurs, Multimedia Communicators, and Communication Managers:

  • Creating new products and services that have a positive impact on society is what Technopreneurs do by merging technology prowess with entrepreneurial talent and skills.
  • Careers for Multimedia Communicators vary widely – from web designing, film and video editing, animating, to being a multimedia journalist who creates content for social media and brands.
  • Messages both in internal and external communication of a company have to be consistent and engaging. A TCM graduate, as a communication manager or director, can take care of that.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN TECHNOLOGY COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT

The Master of Science in Technology Communication Management is a two-year degree program where graduates become professional communications managers.

Being in a science and technology university, it emphasizes the mastery of the use of current and emerging communication technologies and multimedia tools to manage communication effectively in different contexts; and the communication of science, technology, and innovations to close the gap between organizations or scientists and the public.

Furthermore, the program challenges students to become credible and independent sources of scientific knowledge through research in the areas of communication, and of management, advance knowledge, and strengthen our communities.
