The Ph.D. Science Education (Chemistry) students of the Department of Science Education of USTP Cagayan de Oro’s College of Science and Technology Education (CSTE) and the faculty members of the College of Information Technology and Computing (CITC) team up to provide science teachers from the different public schools in Northern Mindanao a series of webinars designed to assist science educators learn more about important science topics and the educational technologies that may be used in online classes.
The webinars are scheduled on December 5, 12 and 19, 2020. It will cover topics essential to science education such as Science Process Skills, 21st Century Skills, Most Essential Science Competencies, Creating Engaging Modules, and Professional Development in the New Normal. The topics were aptly complimented by educational technologies such as Padlet and Mentimeter. Teachers who will participate in the capability training will also learn how to use simulation and animation to teach science.
USTP through the College of Information Technology and Computing has been giving a number of capability trainings to help teachers impart knowledge in the new normal.
