The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Region X, headed by Officer-in-Charge Harry B. Borres and represented by Mr. Richie James Uy, has once again worked in partnership with the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Oroquieta Extension Program and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region X through a 2-day Livelihood Skills Training on Baking and Cooking for the Sealand OFW Association of Clarin, Misamis Occidental on June 6-7, 2022, at the USTP Oroquieta Food Training Laboratory Facility.

The training served as the highlight for the Migrant Workers’ Day, which is celebrated every 7th day of June, in honor of our modern heroes, the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), for their massive contribution to our country’s economy.

This year’s theme, “Kabayan, sa Galing at Sakripisyo Mo, Nakabangon ang Mundo!” captured the true essence of USTP, OWWA, and DOLE’s drive of empowerment through innovation for our modern heroes.

The huge smiles plastered on the faces of the participants along with their products on display clearly evidenced the program’s victory, which undoubtedly paves the way for more collaborations with the University’s esteemed stakeholders.

Ms. Ma. Liberty Doncillo, Ms. Gwen Salabsab, Mr. Mon Christian Doncillo, and Mrs. Nadeth Leopoldo are the proponents of the said activity.
