Philippine Farm Tourism Conference honors USTP alumnus with Youth Lakbay Bukid Award

A USTP Claveria alumnus, Mr. Francis Joseph C. Perdigon, was recently honored with the esteemed First Youth Lakbay Award during the 7th Philippine Farm Tourism Conference 2024. The conference, held from February 26 to 28 at The Bellevue Resort in Panglao, Bohol, brought together industry leaders, academicians, and enthusiasts to discuss the theme “Farm Tourism: Consciousness for Healthy Living and New Experiences.”

Nominated by Dr. Eric Randy R. Politud, Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovations at the USTP Claveria, Mr. Perdigon’s exemplary dedication to agriculture and farm tourism caught the attention of the awards committee, spearheaded by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA).

A Magna Cum Laude graduate and Class Valedictorian of Batch 2023, Mr. Perdigon’s hands-on involvement in farm work showcased his genuine commitment to rural development and inspired a new generation of agricultural enthusiasts. His recognition as the first and only youth in the Asia-Pacific Region to receive the First Youth Lakbay Bukid Award underscores his outstanding contributions to the field.

The USTP Claveria community proudly celebrated Mr. Perdigon’s achievement during the Monday convocation on March 4, 2024. His dedication, innovation, and commitment to agriculture not only bring honor to the university but also set a commendable standard of excellence.
