USTP Balubal innovators recently competed for the Agri-Aqua Innovation Challenge Demo Day organized by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) held at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Makati City.

From over 400 participants, Team FreshBox was announced as part of the Top 7 Finalists for the Student Category. The team, composed of Mr. Robert J. Mondejar, Ms. Jerry Mae A. Zarate, and Ms. Hannah Jasmin Cinco, was then invited to attend the Demo Day on November 9, 2022.

The team traveled from Cagayan de Oro to Makati with Dr. Joevel C. Pepania, USTP Balubal Campus Director, and Engr. Diogenes A. Pascua, their Coach, to present their  technology called FreshBox.

FreshBox is a transportable storage box that maintains and monitors temperature and humidity, helping preserve the freshness and quality of fruits and vegetables stored inside.

Despite the team not making it to the roster of major winners, they still received Php 100,000.00 as a consolation prize for joining the said competition.

Congratulations, Team FreshBox!
