In a move to further strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives across campuses, the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) convened a strategic meeting with the University President and campus coordinators on March 30, 2026, at the Boardroom, 3rd Floor, Administration Building, USTP CDO. The meeting brought together CET campus coordinators from across the university system to present their respective accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, challenges, and operational needs.
The discussion served as a platform for aligning campus-level efforts with the broader direction of the university’s innovation and entrepreneurship agenda.
During the session, the University President outlined USTP’s vision for integrating industry into higher education and emphasized the importance of building a responsive, sustainable innovation ecosystem. Practical guidance was also provided on resource access, allocation, and management to support better CET-led programs, including incubation, mentoring, and student development initiatives.
The meeting was anchored on three key objectives: to communicate the updated CET organizational structure and clarify the coordinating relationship between the system-level office and campus coordinators; to assess the strengths, gaps, and opportunities across campuses in areas such as faculty training, student mentoring, incubation, and competitions; and to identify priority areas and quick-win initiatives where the CET system office can provide immediate and strategic support.
Through open dialogue and collaborative exchange, campus representatives were able to highlight best practices while raising critical concerns that require system-level intervention. The engagement also enabled CET leadership to map out targeted actions that will enhance program delivery and ensure consistency across campuses.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to stronger coordination, clearer direction, and sustained collaboration among CET offices. As USTP continues to advance its innovation agenda, initiatives such as this reaffirm the university’s dedication to empowering its academic community and cultivating a dynamic environment for entrepreneurship and technology-driven solutions.
