The Department of Information Technology of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) showcased research excellence and innovation during the Lambigit 2026: 3rd Northern Mindanao Research and Innovation Summit held on April 29–30, 2026, at the Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City. Anchored on the theme “From Research to Real-World Solutions: Powering Northern Mindanao’s Innovation Ecosystem,” the two-day summit gathered academic institutions, researchers, and innovators across the region to present technologies and research-driven solutions addressing real-world challenges.

Representing USTP Claveria, two capstone projects from the Department of Information Technology were accepted for presentation and exhibition during the summit. Leading the department’s achievement was the project TrackTor: A Tractor Booking and GPS Monitoring System, which secured 4th Place in the Poster Presentation category among 36 entries. The project integrates SinoTrack ST-901 technology to improve agricultural operations through efficient tractor booking and real-time GPS monitoring.

The project was presented by Marc Jonas A. Oclarit, together with John Cyrus A. Quirino, project leader; John Benedict C. Quirino; and Anna Veb N. Humaynon. Meanwhile, the capstone project CowCloud: A Cloud-Based Radio Frequency Identification Monitoring System for Dairy Farm Management was featured as an official exhibitor during INNOHUB 2026: Research-to-Reality Technology Demonstration. The system utilizes cloud computing and RFID technology to enhance dairy farm management and livestock monitoring.

The project was exhibited by John Paul E. Togonon, project leader; Vince John T. Batuigas; Cherry Mae Bustamante; and Rowe L. Sabanal.

Both projects were developed under the guidance of adviser Ms. Caroline Paraiso-Zaportiza, LPT, and co-adviser Engr. Chrizyl Mae A. Maglangit, who provided technical expertise and mentorship throughout the development process.

The achievements of the students and faculty were later recognized during the Monday Convocation held on May 4, 2026, at the USTP Claveria campus. University officials commended the teams for exemplifying innovation, research excellence, and community relevance through technology-driven solutions.

The participation and recognition of USTP Claveria at Lambigit 2026 reflect the University’s continued commitment to producing industry-ready graduates capable of transforming research into practical and impactful real-world applications.
