USTP Claveria produces new Philippine Army Officers through ROTC program

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) has produced three newly commissioned officers of the Philippine Army through its Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit under the Officer Candidate Course–ROTC (OCC-ROTC) “TALAGILAB” Class 03-2026.
The newly commissioned officers are Second Lieutenant Ian Rey A. Ellevera, PA, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture graduate and former Corps Commander of the USTP Claveria ROTC Unit; Second Lieutenant Norman Jehuel E. Sabasales, PA, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering graduate and former Battalion S2; and Second Lieutenant Peter Jhon S. Macapas, PA, a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture Management graduate and former Battalion S4.
Their commissioning marks the beginning of their service as officers of the Philippine Army following the successful completion of the required military training under the OCC-ROTC program.
The USTP Claveria ROTC Unit recognized the newly commissioned officers for their achievement, citing their commitment to leadership, discipline, and public service. The unit also noted that their accomplishment serves as an inspiration to current and future ROTC cadets pursuing military leadership and national service.
The commissioning of the three officers reflects USTP Claveria’s continuing contribution to the development of competent and service-oriented leaders through its ROTC program.
