USTP Claveria sends off class of 2026 with inspiring Tribute to Graduands

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) honored its graduating students through a meaningful Tribute to Graduands held on June 15, 2026, at the USTP Gymnasium, celebrating their academic achievements and recognizing their readiness to become future leaders, environmental stewards, and champions of agricultural excellence. The event brought together university officials, faculty members, staff, parents, and students in a memorable gathering dedicated to recognizing the hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments of the graduating class.
The program commenced with registration and video presentations showcasing the academic journey, milestones, and memorable experiences of the fourth-year students. This was followed by the faculty and program entourage and the opening preliminaries.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Rudy M. Camay, Dean, welcomed the attendees and congratulated the graduates for successfully completing their academic journey despite the challenges they encountered throughout their studies.
An inspirational message was delivered by Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Chancellor of USTP Claveria, who encouraged the graduating students to uphold integrity, excellence, innovation, and service as they pursue their chosen careers and contribute to nation-building.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the Hooding Ceremony for Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy candidates led by Dr. Rudy M. Camay together with university officials. This symbolic rite recognized the academic achievements and scholarly dedication of the graduate students.
The celebration continued with a solemn Candle Lighting Ceremony participated in by graduating students from various programs, including MSc and PhD, Entrepreneurship, Computer Science, Data Science, associate in science, Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED), Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management (BTHM), and Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry (BSAF). The activity symbolized the graduates’ commitment to carry the light of knowledge and service beyond the university.
The audience was further inspired by heartfelt messages from outstanding students, including Kaycee Pagaran, Magna Cum Laude, and Mary Jean Enlawan, Magna Cum Laude, who shared their experiences, challenges, and triumphs throughout their academic journey.
Adding to the significance of the event was the Giving of Academic and Special Awards, recognizing students who demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, research, and extracurricular activities.
A unique feature of the tribute was the program roasting segment, where faculty members and students shared lighthearted and memorable stories, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration among the graduating class.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Remy Dave Tizo, Magna Cum Laude, expressed gratitude to the university, faculty, parents, and supporters who played vital roles in their success.
The event also featured a ceremonial dance and wine toasting, symbolizing the graduates’ transition from student life to their future professional endeavors. The celebration concluded with the awarding of Best Dressed Graduands and closing remarks delivered by Mr. Rosewin Sevandal.
A fellowship dinner and photo opportunity followed, allowing graduates, families, and faculty members to commemorate the milestone and celebrate years of dedication and hard work.
The Tribute to Graduands served as a fitting send-off for the graduating class, honoring their accomplishments while inspiring them to continue pursuing excellence and making meaningful contributions to their communities and respective fields of expertise.
