The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria (USTP Claveria), led by Chancellor Dr. Renato O. Arazo reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, collaboration, and institutional integrity during the Commission on Audit (COA) Exit and Entrance Conference held on April 22, 2026, at the Function Hall, 3rd Floor, Administration Building, USTP Claveria. The activity marked both the conclusion of the previous audit cycle and the beginning of the 2026 audit engagement, highlighting the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and financial management practices.
In his message, Dr. Arazo emphasized the significance of the conference as both a culmination and a new beginning, underscoring the importance of continuity in public service and institutional accountability. He expressed appreciation for the open and constructive discussions, noting that the engagement reflected a shared commitment to transparency and collaboration among stakeholders.
Dr. Arazo reaffirmed the University’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of public service, particularly in financial stewardship and compliance with government regulations.
He highlighted that accountability remains a core institutional value, guiding decision-making and operational practices across the campus. He also emphasized the role of COA as a partner in governance, rather than solely a regulatory body.
According to him, the collaboration between USTP Claveria and COA ensures that resources are utilized efficiently, effectively, and responsibly, contributing to the University’s overall mission and impact. The Chancellor further acknowledged the support and guidance provided by COA personnel, noting that open communication and dialogue play a crucial role in addressing challenges and improving institutional processes.
The competition, initiated by Police Regional Office 10, aimed to develop a comprehensive, functional, and sustainable master plan for Camp General Nicolas T. Capistrano in Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City. By engaging professional architects through a formal design competition, the agency sought to promote excellence in public infrastructure planning.
Representing both the academic and professional practice, the USTP faculty participants are active members of the United Architects of the Philippines – CDO Bay Area Chapter. Their success highlights the strong integration of teaching and professional experience, reinforcing the quality of architectural education delivered by the University.
