Project Lamdag V2.0 by USTP Oroquieta enhances digital governance and public service in Oroquieta City

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) through the Department of Information Technology (DIT) in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Oroquieta City and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Misamis Occidental, successfully conducted Project Lamdag V2.0: Local Access to Modern Digitalization Across Groups on April 28-29, 2026, at USTP Oroquieta campus. The two-day extension project aimed at bridging the digital divide and enhancing the technical skills of LGU personnel. Project Lamdag V2.0, based on the pillars of modern government which are efficiency, security and innovation, intended to make sure that frontline public officials are not only bystanders in the digital age, but active and skilled participants.

- AI Literacy & Cybersecurity: Introducing ethical usage of Artificial Intelligence to automate workflows with focus on the crucial importance of data privacy and protection against modern cyber threats.
- Microsoft Office Expert Series: Comprehensive Word and Excel training with an emphasis on sophisticated tools for data handling and business documents.
- Cloud Collaboration: Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets training to build a culture of real-time collaboration and paperless productivity in government agencies.
The project marks a big step towards the national aim of a digitized government. By leveraging USTP Oroquieta’s technical skills and DICT’s digital framework, LGU Oroquieta City is paving the way to become a leader in digital transformation in the province. The LGU personnel now have higher-level digital abilities, which can help them serve the citizens of Oroquieta City with more streamlined, secure and tech-savvy public services.
