The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) Department of Technology and Livelihood Education (DTLE) strengthened Teacher Education Program in the two-day seminar–writeshop titled “Enhancing Compliance of the BTLEd Undergraduate Teacher Education Program cum Writeshop on the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Proof of Transformation”. The event was held on April 23–24, 2026, at Loiza’s Pavilion in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The activity brought together teacher education stakeholders across the region with the primary goal of strengthening compliance with established standards for Teacher Education Programs.

The seminar-writeshop was organized by the State Universities and Colleges Teacher Educators’ Association (SUCTEA) – Region X, in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – Region X. It served as a collaborative platform for revisiting and clarifying key requirements of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR), while reinforcing the effective implementation of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE).

Representing USTP Oroquieta were Mr. Bernardo T. Crisologo, Mr. Devylon M. Alamin, and Miss Lyka Ayesha D. Gonzal, who actively participated in the sessions. Their engagement reflected a strong institutional commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement in the Teacher Education Program, specifically in the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) courses with majors in Home Economics (HE), Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and Industrial Arts (IA).

The writeshop specifically aimed to align SAR preparation with minimum standards and evidence-based requirements through active participation of deans, program heads, and faculty members. It also emphasized building institutional readiness for program evaluation and accreditation by fostering shared understanding and collaboration among educators. This initiative highlights the importance of the campus’ unified efforts in ensuring that teacher education programs remain responsive, standards-driven, and outcomes-focused, ultimately contributing to the advancement of educational quality in the region.
