USTP conducts orientation seminar for newly-hired faculty

The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CiTL) and the Human Resource Management Unit (HRMU) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) kicked off with Day 1 for the Faculty Onboarding and Career Upstart Seminar (FOCUS).

The orientation is programmed for newly-hired regular, Contract Of Service (COS) and part-time faculty members in the university. This is to orient them with the culture of the university, the employment privileges, policies and career opportunities.

The 5 (five) day seminar and orientation started November 6, via Zoom. Day 1 of the seminar tackled on the USTP Vision, Mission, Core Values, Graduate Attributes including the organizational structure of the academe.

Participants were also able to ask questions regarding HR matters relating to their employment in the university. The seminar will continue on November 13,20, 26 and 27.

Other topics will be on professional responsibilities, career growth and designing assessments of learning.
