USTP explores international education and mobility opportunities with Canada Shaws Consulting Inc.

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) held a meeting with Canada Shaws Consulting Inc. on September 1, 2026, at the USTP Boardroom in Cagayan de Oro City to explore possible collaboration in international education and mobility. The discussion covered potential opportunities in student mobility, internships, faculty exchange, research collaboration, micro-credentials, and other academic and professional activities that may support the university’s internationalization initiatives.
Representing Canada Shaws Consulting Inc., Ms. Michelle Bacay, Sales and Marketing Director, introduced the organization and discussed its services and possible areas of collaboration with USTP. She was joined by Ms. Cellia Xiao, Senior Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, who presented potential programs and pathways that may be available to qualified USTP students and faculty.
Dr. Lory Liza D. Bulay-og, Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed the university’s interest in exploring opportunities for student internships and international professional exposure. She highlighted the value of such experiences in developing students’ competencies and preparing them for the workplace.
The meeting also discussed possible education and career pathways in Canada, subject to applicable immigration, employment, professional, and institutional requirements.
USTP continues to explore international partnerships that may provide students and faculty with opportunities for academic mobility, professional development, research collaboration, and international exposure.
