USTP Oroquieta BSIT students showcase innovative systems for public service enhancement

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) successfully conducted the USTP Project Exhibit, featuring the capstone and system development projects of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students held on May 29, 2026 at Plaridel Municipal Office, Misamis Occidental. The exhibit highlighted innovative, technology-driven solutions aimed at improving public service delivery through proposed Hospital Management Systems and Human Resource Management Systems.
The event was attended by Hon. Gadwin E. Handumon, Municipal Mayor of Plaridel, together with local government unit (LGU) personnel who witnessed the presentation of student-developed systems designed to address operational challenges in public institutions. Through live demonstrations and project presentations, students showcased how digital technologies can streamline administrative processes, improve efficiency, and support better service delivery.
Also present during the exhibit were the USTP Information Technology faculty members headed by Ms. Jubilee Daga-ang, whose guidance and mentorship played a vital role in the successful completion of the students’ capstone projects. Faculty members joined stakeholders in evaluating the proposed systems and providing insights on their potential application in government and healthcare settings.
The Project Exhibit served as a platform for students to demonstrate their technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills while fostering collaboration between the academe and local government. The event underscored USTP Oroquieta’s commitment to producing competent IT professionals capable of developing innovative solutions that contribute to community development and digital transformation.
