The Bachelor of Technical and Livelihood Education (BTLED) students of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) successfully conducted the Entrepreneurship Pitching Competition 2026 as the culminating activity of their Entrepreneurship course on May 25–26, 2026, at the USTP Oroquieta Smart Room and Conference Room.

With the theme, “From Concept to Community Impact: Empowering Future Technopreneurs,” the event provided a platform for students to transform innovative ideas into viable business ventures while addressing real-world community needs.

The two-day competition gathered students from the Industrial Arts (IA), Home Economics (HE), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programs. Participants showcased their entrepreneurial competence through the presentation of comprehensive business plans, innovative product concepts, and strategic business proposals. The competition was divided into two rounds. During the first round, all IA 1, HE 1, and ICT 1 students presented their business concepts before a panel of evaluators. The most promising proposals advanced to the second round, where finalists refined and defended their business plans in a more rigorous pitching environment.

Among the outstanding student entrepreneurs recognized during the event were the Best Pitchers from each program. Representing IA 1 were Fritz Lester Yting and Gee Mark Montealto, whose confidence, clarity, and persuasive presentation skills impressed the evaluators. From ICT 1Marry Jane Pabate and Amiel Rose Antiola demonstrated exceptional communication skills and strong business insights during their presentations. Meanwhile, Rachel Ann Balili and Jobanie Dinoy earned recognition as the Best Pitchers from HE 1 for effectively presenting their innovative business concepts and responding to evaluators’ questions with confidence and professionalism.

The event highlighted the students’ creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and entrepreneurial mindset. Through intensive preparation and presentation, participants demonstrated their understanding of market analysis, financial planning, sustainability, innovation, and community engagement which are essential competencies for future technopreneurs and business leaders.

As the competition concluded, outstanding business proposals were recognized for their innovation, feasibility, sustainability, and potential contribution to community development. More importantly, all participants gained valuable learning experiences that will prepare them for future entrepreneurial endeavors and leadership roles in their respective fields.

The Entrepreneurship Pitching Competition 2026 stands as a testament to USTP Oroquieta’s commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among future educators and technopreneurs, empowering students to become catalysts of positive change within their communities and beyond.
