For the first time, the Department of Technology and Livelihood Education (DTLEd) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Panaon, Misamis Occidental, celebrated its TLE Days last April 24-25, 2023, with the theme, “Challenges and Opportunities of Future Educators in this D-VUCAD World.” The entire populace of the department participated in the different activities that aimed to enhance and showcase their talents and skills in the field of Technology and Livelihood Education.
To formally open the event, Ms. Mary Cris J. Gemoros, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, together with Ms. Jurilyn Incoy, Future Educators’ Guild (FEG) President, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Entrepreneur’s Booth Competition.
Ms. Gemoros also inspired all future educators to focus on their goals of becoming an educator and not to forget to have fun in everything they do.
BTLEd students also attended simultaneous symposia focusing on Mainstreaming Practices in Writing an Effective Lesson Plan, How to Perform a Noteworthy Teaching Demonstration, and Conceptualizing Research Studies. Academic competitions such as On-the-Spot Lesson Plan Writing, Instructional Materials Making, and Teaching Demonstration was the highlight of the event.
Other competitions include table skirting, make-up contest, coffee painting, mobile phone photography, poster making, quiz bowl, and Larong Pinoy.
