Ms. Hannah May Ello, PATHFIT Instructor of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon (USTP Panaon), participated in the 2026 International Physical Education Convention (IPEC) held from May 5 to 9, 2026, at the University of Southeastern Philippines and the Lyceum of the Philippines University–Davao. Carrying the theme, “Elevating Philippine Physical Education: Leading Innovation, Impact, and Excellence on the Global Stage,” the convention gathered physical education educators, coaches, researchers, and health professionals from across the country and abroad.
The convention aimed to promote professional development and innovation in physical education through discussions on sports science, research, program management, legal and ethical practices, and emerging trends in health and wellness. Participants also engaged in hands-on workshops on movement education, dance, recreation, and integrative health while earning certifications in various sports and physical education disciplines.
Throughout the five-day convention, Ms. Ello attended plenary sessions on research and publication, participated in the National PATHFIT Workshop titled “Empowering Movement Education for Global Impact,” and joined practical workshops on bodyweight training, Baseball, Floorball, Orienteering, and traditional Philippine games. She also took part in sessions focusing on sports policies, ethics, legal compliance, and risk management, strengthening her knowledge and competencies in physical education instruction.
As part of the convention’s cultural activities, Ms. Ello represented the Idyinale Tribe during the cultural presentation, which was recognized as the Best Tribal Dance and received the grand prize.
Ms. Ello’s participation in IPEC 2026 reinforces USTP Panaon’s commitment to continuous faculty development and excellence in instruction. The knowledge, skills, and best practices gained from the convention are expected to further enrich the University’s PATHFIT program and enhance learning experiences for students through innovative and globally relevant physical education instruction.
