USTP Panaon joins DOST PCAARRD-IDD R&D Project Implementation Risk Management training workshop

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Panaon, Misamis Occidental, represented by the campus Research & Extension Coordinator Ms. Marjho Mae S. Cardoza, participated in the training workshop titled “Risk Management of R&D Project Implementation” last September 18-22, 2023, at the DOST PCAARRD Innovation and Technology Center in Los Baños, Laguna, organized by the DOST PCAARRD Institution Development Division (IDD).

The participants during the “Risk Management of R&D Project Implementation” training workshop last September 18-22, 2023, held at the DOST PCAARRD Innovation and Technology Center, Los Baños, Laguna.

The training is for free by invitation only; upon completion of the course, the participants who held a license in any of the following fields were eligible to earn the following Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit units: up to 12 units for Agriculture, 15 units for Fisheries, and 25 units for Foresters.

Twenty-four (24) participants came from different regions in the Philippines: Region 1 – Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (1); Region 2 – Caraga State University (2) and Isabela State University (1); Region 3 – Pampanga State Agricultural University (1); Region 4A – Bureau of Plant Industry (2), Laguna State Polytechnic University (1), DOST PCAARRD (2), Cavite State University (1), University of the Philippines (2), DOST FPRDI (1); Region 7 – DENR Regional office (1); Region 9 – DENR Regional Office (1); Region 10 – University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (2); and Region 11 – Davao del Norte State College (1) and Southern Philippines Agri-business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (1).

The workshop involved risk identification of the participant’s ongoing DOST project. It also delved into risk analysis, risk evaluation, and making a risk response action plan. The participants then presented a Re-entry Action Plan (REAP) as an output. The training utilized the DOST PCAARRD IDD online training site called PALMS. Workshop activities and assignments were posted on the said site, wherein the participants must accomplish all the deliverables to complete the training course.
