USTP Panaon tapped for BPLS Water Quality Assessment

The Baliangao Protected Landscape and Seascape – Protected Area Management Office (BPLS-PAMO) tapped USTP Panaon during the conduct of the water quality assessment for the dry season of CY 2023 at the Baliangao Protected Landscape and Seascape, Barangay Misom, Baliangao Misamis Occidental, last March 30–31, 2023.

Representing USTP Panaon was Mr. Mark L. Arcilla, a Marine Biology faculty member who assisted and ensured the entire team that collecting water samples was under set rules and standards. This project aims to collect environmental data and scientific inferences of the water quality assessment and monitoring of the Baliangao Protected Landscape Seascape.

USTP Panaon was also joined by different government organizations namely the Philippine National Police Maritime Group, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and LGU-Baliangao to help and evaluate the legitimacy of the technique during the data collection phase.
