USTP System continues to expand

The USTP System Board of Regents (BOR) in its second quarter regular meeting on June 25, 2020 approved the establishment of two new offices to further strengthen the University’s services to its stakeholders.

By virtue of BOR Resolution No. 77, s. 2020, the Board approved the establishment of the Digital Transformation Office to spearhead the system-wide business process automation which includes planning, designing, evaluation, customization, development, documentation, implementation of various ICT policies and information systems.

The Strategic Communication Office (Strat Comm) was also established by virtue of BOR Resolution No. 87, s. 2020. The Strat Comm is designed to respond to the internal and external communication needs of the University especially during this time of the COVID-19 crisis.

In 2019, the Board also approved the establishment of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL), which primarily takes charge in the development of the innovative delivery of instruction, and the 16 Research Centers, which specialize in various areas of discipline consistent to the Research Agenda of the USTP. The Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Development Unit (IPFDU) was also enhanced to strengthen planning and implementation of infrastructure projects across the campuses—USTP Alubijid, USTP Balubal, USTP CDO, USTP Claveria, USTP Jasaan, USTP Oroquieta, USTP Panaon, and USTP Villanueva.

With the growing workforce, the offices at the University System level, including the newly established, are now housed at the Administration Building at the center of USTP CDO. Located at the ground floor of the establishment are the offices of the Vice President for Administration and Legal Affairs (VPALA), Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Vice President for Finance, Planning and Development (VPFPD), Director for Research and Innovation Centers, and the Director for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation under the VPFPD. The centralization of USTP System level offices at the Administration Building aims to harmonize and enhance the effectivity and efficiency of the services being provided especially to the USTP stakeholders.

An added feature of the building is the new mini conference room at the ground floor which is expected to augment the establishment’s capacity in holding meetings/conferences on top of the current capacity that the Board Room of the same building can accommodate.

The Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Development Unit (IPFDU) of USTP System and the Civil and Sanitary Works Unit (CSWU) of USTP CDO complete the office renovation of the Administration Building.

The Office of the University System President and the Office of the Head of the IPDFU/Person-in-Charge of the USTP AGILA Techno Park are located at the second floor. The newly renovated Office of the President has a fresh look and a bigger space to accommodate more personnel to complement the growing workforce at the System level.

Housed at the third floor of the building are the Office of the University and Board Secretary (OUABS); Office of the International Affairs; and the Strategic Communication Office.
