USTP System President urges ABCCA graduates to champion a resilient Philippines

The USTP System President, Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, delivered his closing address during the first day of the Asian Business Cabletow Cooperative Academy (ABCCA) 7th Commencement Exercises held at the Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras (DRER) Memorial Hall, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) on May 27, 2024.

Reflecting on the theme Kabataang Pilipino Para sa Matatag na Kinabukasan ng Bagong Pilipinas, Dr. Cultura stated, “Graduates, you are the torchbearers of hope and progress,” as a way of reminding the graduates of their role in nation-building.

He added, “Remember that you are not just graduates of ABCCA; you are ambassadors of positive change, equipped to transform our society and build a better Philippines.”

The event was graced by honorable government leaders, including Hon. Maria Imelda Josefa Remedios “Imee” R. Marcos, Senator, Republic of the Philippines; Hon. Rolando A. Uy, Mayor, City of Cagayan De Oro; Hon. Peter M. Unabia, Governor, Province of Misamis Oriental; Hon. Atty. Nadya B. Emano-Elipe, Mayor, Municipality of Tagoloan, Province of Misamis Oriental; and Dr. Arturo B. Bayocot, Ceso III, Regional Director, Department of Education Region X.

During the event, Dr. Cultura underscored the significance of the spirit of bayanihan in addressing the critical issues of poverty, conflict, environmental sustainability, and technological advancement. He urged all present to collectively harness their potential to forge an inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable future for all Filipinos.
