USTP CDO showcases excellence in community extension and innovation at PAEPI 2026

The Extension and Community Relations Division of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO) recognized its extension project teams and partners for receiving multiple awards during the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors, Inc. (PAEPI) Region X Conference and General Assembly held on April 28–30, 2026, at the Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology in Tangub City. The recognitions highlight the University’s continued commitment to community-based innovation, research utilization, inclusive development, digital extension, and transformative extension initiatives that create meaningful impact in partner communities.
Among the awards received by USTP CDO were the Best Extension Paper Award and Best Extension Poster Award under Strand 5: Research-Based and Technology Transfer for the project titled Innovations in Technology for Education Convention (ITEC): A Service-Learning Extension Program for Sustainable Science Education. The project Empowering Indigenous Women: A Dressmaking Community-Based Skills Training Initiative in New Visayas, Don Carlos, Bukidnon also received the Best Extension Poster Award and Best Extension Paper Award under Strand 1: Sustainable and Inclusive Community Development.
Meanwhile, the project Enhancement and Validation of CHED-RX Enrollment Data Collection System (EDCS) earned the Best Extension Paper Award under Strand 3: Innovation, Digital Extension, and Smart Communities. USTP CDO also received the Innovation in Extension Award for the project NTC-EDGE: Advancing Digital Governance and Citizen-Centered Regulation in the Philippine Telecommunications Sector.
These achievements reflect the dedication and collaborative efforts of the University’s extension teams, proponents, partners, and community stakeholders in advancing impactful and sustainable extension initiatives. Through these recognitions, USTP CDO continues to strengthen its mission of bringing knowledge, innovation, and service closer to communities across the region.
