The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), through the Global Engagement and Mobility (GEM) – International Affairs Office, announced the selection of two students from USTP Cagayan de Oro for the Humanitarian Technology Summer Internship Programme 2026 at Lingnan University in Hong Kong.

Representing USTP are Clyde Jake S. Jabao, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering student, and Frijiel Grace A. Magpulong, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering student.

The Humanitarian Technology Summer Internship Programme brings together students from different countries to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions to real-world humanitarian issues through experiential learning and cross-cultural collaboration. USTP’s participation in the program for the third consecutive year reflects the University’s sustained commitment to internationalization, global engagement, and student mobility.

USTP’s partnership with Lingnan University was strengthened through the efforts of Dr. Maria Teresa M. Fajardo, Director of the Extension and Community Relations Division, whose leadership has expanded international collaborations and created more opportunities for students to participate in global learning initiatives.

The participation of Clyde Jake and Frijiel Grace underscores USTP’s commitment to developing globally competitive students equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values to drive innovation, advance sustainable development, and create positive social impact. It also underscores the University’s continuing efforts to provide transformative international learning experiences that prepare students to become future-ready professionals and leaders.
