USTP Claveria holds 1st Pinning Ceremony for Hospitality Management interns

In a momentous occasion filled with pride and anticipation, the Department of Hospitality Management at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) proudly hosted its First Pinning Ceremony at the Administration Building Function Hall on March 1, 2024, at 1:30 PM. The event, with the theme Embracing Hospitality Management Excellence: Pioneering Pathways marked a significant milestone as the department celebrated its senior students’ achievements and impending journey.

The event was graced by esteemed guests and key officials, including Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Chancellor of USTP Claveria, and Dr. Maribel S. Tizo, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology (CET). The ceremony embodied the department’s commitment to fostering excellence and leadership in hospitality management. Ms. Bjanesha M. Emphasis, President of the Misamis Oriental Hotel and Restaurant Association (MOHARA), delivered an inspiring address as the Guest Speaker, imparting invaluable insights and encouragement to the graduating seniors.

Twenty-two (22) fourth-year hospitality management students attended the ceremony, accompanied by five (5) faculty members from the department, including Ms. Quenie Dawn Obsioma, Ms. Jaica Tizo, Ms. Sheree Ann Mopos, Ms. Sheena Mae Rubin, and Mr. Remy John Tizo, the department head. The ceremony reflected the students’ dedication and perseverance throughout their academic journey.

 

As the ceremony drew to a close, the students were reminded of the transformative impact of their educational experiences and the unwavering support their mentors and peers provided. The event served as a pivotal moment for the graduating seniors as they prepared to embark on new pathways in their professional careers, armed with knowledge, skills, and a profound sense of dedication to the principles of hospitality management.
