USTP Oroquieta holds Leadership Summit to develop student leaders

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) conducted the Trailblazers’ Leadership Summit 2026 from July 9 to 11, 2026, at the USTP Oroquieta Mock Hotel. With the theme “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Inspiring Excellence, Service and Innovation,” the three-day activity gathered student leaders and campus organizations for learning sessions and leadership training.
The program opened with an orientation on summit guidelines by Mr. Edward Duma-og. Resource speakers then led discussions on key areas of student leadership: Ms. Maila C. Asim discussed innovation and creativity in student organizations; Ms. Nadeth R. Leopoldo presented parliamentary procedures and meeting management; Mr. Regin P. Talo spoke on the roles and responsibilities of student leaders; Mr. Juvel E. Lapornina discussed project planning and event management; Mr. Jehrome T. Batohinay shared insights on teamwork and collaboration; while Lt. Col. Nelson Q. Boticario concluded the lecture series with a session on peace, discipline, and responsible citizenship.
In addition to the learning sessions, participants took part in workshops, group activities, and discussions that enhanced their communication, teamwork, decision-making, and leadership skills. The summit also provided opportunities for student leaders from various colleges and organizations to exchange experiences, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration.
The Trailblazers’ Leadership Summit is part of USTP Oroquieta’s student development initiatives aimed at equipping campus leaders with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to serve their organizations and contribute effectively to the University community.
