USTP Oroquieta joins community tree growing initiative for Arbor Day 2026

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) actively participated in the Tree Growing and Maintenance Activity in celebration of Arbor Day 2026 held at Sitio Kanuwanan, Oroquieta City, on June 25, 2026. The environmental initiative was spearheaded by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental and gathered various stakeholders committed to promoting environmental sustainability and ecological conservation.
Representing USTP Oroquieta were faculty members, non-teaching staff, and officers of the Parents-Teachers and Community Association (PTCA), who joined hands in the replanting and maintenance of trees to help restore and preserve the area’s natural ecosystem. The activity highlighted the campus’ commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement by encouraging collective action toward protecting natural resources.
Through tree brushing and replanting efforts, participants contributed to improving the survival and healthy growth of previously planted trees while reinforcing the importance of maintaining green spaces for future generations.
USTP Oroquieta continues to uphold its mission of producing socially responsible and environmentally conscious citizens by actively supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development. Its participation in Arbor Day 2026 reflects the University’s dedication to fostering partnerships with local government agencies and the community in building a greener, healthier, and more resilient environment.
