USTP Oroquieta Men's Volleyball Team finishes fifth in USTP system-wide volleyball league

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) Men’s Volleyball Team secured a fifth-place finish in the 2026 USTP System-wide Volleyball Training and League held from July 6 to 10, 2026, at the Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras (DRER) Memorial Hall of the USTP Cagayan de Oro campus. USTP Oroquieta’s Neil Kevin Jamora was also selected to the USTP System Men’s Volleyball Team in recognition of his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Organized by the USTP Cagayan de Oro Sports Division under the leadership of Sports Director Marc John C. Bacayo, the five-day tournament brought together men’s volleyball teams from the University’s eight campuses to promote athletic excellence, teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among student-athletes across the USTP System.

Representing USTP Oroquieta were Neil Kevin Jamora, Mark James Tepanero, Luigi Hayao, Reynold Candawan, Stewart Brandon Luis Cifra, Aaron Throy Jabagat, Joseph Baan Ending, Christian Camins, Glenn Daron, and team captain John Mike Cabantac. The team was coached by Bernardo T. Crisologo, with Krystian Abad serving as assistant coach.

Throughout the competition, the team demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and resilience while competing against some of the University’s strongest volleyball programs. Their fifth-place finish reflected the athletes’ dedication and competitive spirit.

Neil Kevin Jamora’s selection to the USTP System Men’s Volleyball Team highlighted his individual excellence and the continued growth of USTP Oroquieta’s sports development program, which nurtures student-athletes through quality coaching, training, and competitive opportunities.

The tournament also provided participants with valuable opportunities to enhance their skills, strengthen camaraderie, and foster collaboration among athletes from across the USTP System while enabling coaches to assess team performance in preparation for future competitions.
