The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) participated in SIBOL: The 3rd National Agriculture and Youth Summit 2026, held on October 15–16, 2026, at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Legazpi City, Albay. The summit aimed to strengthen youth engagement in agriculture by promoting leadership, innovation, policy awareness, and sustainable agricultural development.
As the third installment of the five-year National Agriculture and Youth Summit Series, SIBOL 2026 gathered students, youth leaders, educators, policymakers, and agricultural advocates from across the country. With the theme “Sagip Saka: Youth at the Heart of Agricultural Change,” the event highlighted the role of young people in addressing agricultural challenges and supporting sustainable development.
Representing USTP Oroquieta were Meca O. Palangpangan, a Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) student majoring in Home Economics, and Aler L. Pagente, a faculty representative. Throughout the two-day summit, the delegates participated in plenary sessions, discussions, and learning activities covering food security, agricultural governance, youth participation, agripreneurship, and community development. The event also provided opportunities to exchange ideas and establish connections with fellow youth leaders and agricultural advocates from different regions.
Through its participation in SIBOL 2026, USTP Oroquieta continues to support student development through learning opportunities that promote leadership, innovation, and social responsibility. The campus also reinforces its commitment to preparing students to contribute to food security, agricultural innovation, and sustainable community development.
