USTP Panaon equips student leaders at HABI 2026

The first day featured the session “From Budget to Accountability: Financial Management for Student Leaders,” facilitated by Rosela P. Arances, CPA, Accountant II of USTP Panaon. The discussion emphasized responsible financial management and the importance of transparency and accountability in managing organizational resources.

Following the session, participating organizations underwent guided drafting of their Annual Work and Financial Plans (AWFPs). The activity allowed student leaders to identify organizational priorities and translate their goals into programs and activities for the academic year.

On the second day, Christopher R. Balaba, MAHE, Head of the Research, Innovation and Extension Section, discussed event management and organizational planning, providing participants with practical approaches to developing and implementing student-led initiatives.

Angela Faye Buenas, President of the Supreme Student Council (SSC), highlighted the importance of establishing clear organizational directions through strategic planning.

“HABI reminds us that leadership is not only about having ideas or creating activities. It is about knowing where we want our organizations to go, understanding our responsibilities, and working together to turn our plans into something meaningful for the students we serve,” Buenas said.

Meanwhile, Denniell Jan E. Salomson, President of the League of Information Technologists (LIT), emphasized the value of collaboration among student organizations.

“When we bring different organizations together, we are able to see different approaches, learn from one another, and improve our own plans. HABI gives us the space to weave these ideas together and turn them into actions that can create a real impact in our organizations,” Salomson said.
