Faculty members and students from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon), participated in the Regional ASEAN Month 2026 Culmination on August 27, 2026, at the People’s Gym in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental. Organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X (CHEDRO X), the event brought together higher education institutions and partner agencies across Northern Mindanao to promote regional cooperation, cultural understanding, and academic collaboration.
Hosted by Tangub City Global College in collaboration with the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Region X, the event featured a solidarity parade of ASEAN Nations and cultural performances highlighting Southeast Asia’s cultural diversity. Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, President of Central Mindanao University and Regional Chair of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) X, delivered the keynote address on academic collaboration.
The program also included the presentation of the International Relations Officers Network’s accomplishment report and strategic initiatives, recognition of internationally ranked higher education institutions, and awarding of winners of the digital poster-making contest and CHED tourism start-up challenge.
Held in line with the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship in 2026, under the theme “Setting Sail for ASEAN 2026: Navigating Our Future, Together,” the celebration highlighted opportunities for regional cooperation and international engagement in higher education.
USTP Panaon gained exposure to regional internationalization initiatives and opportunities for academic collaboration, supporting the University’s efforts to strengthen partnerships and promote intercultural understanding among students and faculty members.
