USTP President highlights collaboration at ICESSU 2026

“Start conversations with someone from a different field. Ask questions that challenge your perspective. Listen not just to respond, but to understand because innovation begins with collaboration.”

This was the message emphasized by Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, University President of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, during his address at the 6th International Conference on Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities (ICESSU) held on April 27–28, 2026, in Manila, Philippines.

Serving as Guest of Honor, Dr. Cultura underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing global challenges and advancing innovation. He further stressed that meaningful and transformative solutions emerge when the academe, industry, government, and communities work together toward shared goals.

With the theme “Empowering the Next Generation: Technology and Education for Achieving Global Sustainability,” the conference gathered researchers, academicians, industry experts, and students to exchange knowledge, present innovations, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations toward sustainable development.

Faculty members and officials from USTP actively participated in the conference. These included:

The conference was organized by IFERP Academy in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology – National Capital Region. Academic partners included Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc., Cor Jesu College, Inc., Rizal Technological University, and the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines.
